Vatican Station is a comfortable bed and breakfast located in the central area of Rome. The bed and breakfast is 300 meters far from the Cipro's metro station. In addition to its proximity to the Metro, the B&B Vatican Station is also very close to the bus stop of viale delle Medaglie d’Oro, about 50 mt, where it is possible to take several bus lines (907, 913, 990, 991, 999) which connect the area with the other districts of Rome.
Visiting Vatican Museums, St. Peter's Basilica and Castel Sant'Angelo
Our bed and breakfast is located in the middle of a quiet private road very close to Vatican City. Vatican Museums, St. Peter's Basilica and Castel Sant'Angelo are only a short walking distance from the bed and breakfast. On the last Sunday of each month, the Vatican Museums are open to the public for free. Every Sunday at noon in St. Peter's square, the Pope holds a brief speech at the end of which recites the Angelus. The Holy Father's speech is broadcast by many radio and television stations worldwide. The National Museum of Castel Sant'Angelo is located inside the wall of the castle whose peculiar circular shape makes it unmistakable.
Finding Rome and the Vatican
The Rione Prati doesn't offer simply a wonderful nightlife with its wide variety of public places, but also gathers many different touristic treasures in a cozy area, thus creating a charming contrast between the ancient and the modern in all its splendor. In fact, the whole area is crowded with historical buildings dating back to the mid-nineteenth century like, for example, the Supreme Court of Cassation (also known as the Palazzaccio) and other monuments such as the churches surrounding the Vatican City State. Nearly all of them have artistic treasures hidden in their aisles, including paintings, ancient mosaics, religious icons and sculptures, all of which are open to the public free of charge.
Italy is known world wide for its excellence in food and wine and Rome, as its capital, offers a huge number of trattorias, restaurants, and typical Italian tavernas. One of the best restaurants in Rome is located just here, close to Vatican Station bed and breakfast. At night, strolling around the romantic streets of Rome choosing the most suitable place to eat is an unforgettable experience, so if you are looking for something in particular just check out the various menus posted on the doorway of each restaurant and find the one that suits you best. On the other hand, if you prefer some advice, consider trying out a few of my personal favorite places listed in the welcome notes. Nearby, you will also find several well known shopping streets such as via Candia, via Ottaviano and via Cola di Rienzo that, with all their tailor-shops and shoe-shops, will allow you to buy whatever you may desire.
By staying in our bed and breakfast you can easily and quickly reach all the rest of the touristic points in central Rome without having to give up the necessary peace for your sleep.
